A real-time strategy game I'm building for Steam, in Godot. It's set on Tidemark, an ocean world where under one percent of the surface is still dry and the sea is rising. Island factions fight over every inch of what's left.
It's a desktop game in progress, so there's nothing to play in the browser yet.
What makes it different
- Land is the prize. Every building claims the ground around it. Hold 45% of the dry land for two and a half minutes and you win, even with their base still standing.
- Settlers. Neutral villages sit on the islands between the bases. Keep troops beside one long enough and it joins you, and pays you taxes.
- Two currencies. Alloy dug from mines buys machines. Cash from the land you hold pays your people.
- Crews. Vehicles need a driver. Kill the crew and the vehicle sits there empty, for anyone to climb into. Rush in with tanks and no infantry and you may be handing them over.
- Bridge or boat. Bridging a strait gets your army across, and closes the channel to your own ships.
Factions
The Meridian Charter is the standard army, with a lot of paperwork. The Kindled burn the fight down up close, led by a commander who talks like a pro wrestler. The Drift, who live on rafts, and the Dike Guild, who make new land out of the sea, are on the way.
